About Coco
Courtney is a mother, daughter, sister, friend, master Lego builder
(self-proclaimed), and a bit of a control freak. She shares a
clutter-free, organized home with her two boys and their pet hamster Rocky.
Her organizing career began at an early age.
She organized her Nana's pantry at the age of 9. And never looked back. In addition to
organizing, Courtney has an eye for design. She believes that you don't
always have to spend a fortune on new furniture. She likes taking items
that clients already have and putting them in a place that they might
never think of. "My mother and I share the same fondness for moving
couches in the middle of the night."
Courtney holds a
degree in Counseling which she put to good use upon graduation by
working for a Dallas-based Chemical Dependency Rehabilitation Center.
After starting her Masters in Counseling, she decided to take a break
from the confines of an office chair. During this "break", she
discovered her talent and love of art and teaching. This lead to a
seven-year development and co-ownership of Pee Wee Picasso - a
children's art school which she began with a close friend. Closing in
2009 was "bittersweet, but it was time."
It didn't take
Courtney long to discover that she could help others and be creative at
the same time. Soon after, Coco M Designs was born. (Her former
students called her "Coco.") Today her focus is helping others to
restore peace and sanity into their everyday lives. Through teaching
time-saving and time management skills, Courtney hopes to help
families become better organized so that they can spend time on the
things that really matter.
To unwind from all the
organizing, Courtney likes to paint and browse the Container Store. She
also loves the smell of new office supplies in the morning.
